Book A Workshop

Our puppet workshops are a fun and creative way to learn about puppetry. We teach students how to manipulate the puppets, how to come up with script ideas, how to write a script, create a character and how to recognize the elements of a good story. We’ll also talk a little about the history of puppetry.

We want students to understand that they can be as creative as they want. By using humor, drama, sound effects and music they can tackle all kinds of themes. Our repertoire, for example, includes modern-day fables, relationship skits for older teens and adults, Christmas and Kwanzaa skits, chants, songs and Bible stories with a contemporary flavor. The biggest thing we want to impress upon students is that to reach their audience, they must have a good script, a sense of fun and be willing to rehearse, rehearse, rehearse.
Note: Our workshops can be one-day events or they can last longer. We’ve done two week, four week and six week workshops. We can meet once or twice a week.
